Training 2 – Espinho (Portugal) & Wysokie Mazowieckie (Polonia)

(June 5th – 9th, 2023)

..
The second ROBVET training took place from June 5th to 9th, 2023, simultaneously in Espinho (Portugal), hosted by CEPROF, and in Wysokie Mazowieckie (Poland), coordinated by CKZ. The training brought together teachers, students, and technical staff from partner institutions to advance in the practical handling of the MyCobot280 robot and begin planning the demonstrator scenarios that will be developed in the coming months.
In Espinho, participants from Portugal (CEPROF), Spain (IES Pablo de Olavide), Cyprus (Synthesis), and Turkey (Hi-Sac) took part. The training began with a visit to CEPROF’s facilities and a presentation of student-led projects, which allowed the exchange of experiences and showcased examples of best educational practices. The session continued with an introduction to the MyCobot280 robot, including its initial setup and the installation of peripherals such as the gripper, suction actuator, and camera. With support from AIJU’s technical team, participants carried out initial programming exercises using the Python environment. Teachers and students collaborated in small groups, solving technical challenges and exploring both basic and advanced robotic movements.
Meanwhile, in Wysokie Mazowieckie, partners from Poland (CKZ), Italy (Start Smart), and the Czech Republic (ARP) engaged in the same activities. The training began with a visit to CKZ’s facilities and its vocational training workshops. Participants worked on configuring and programming the MyCobot280, focusing on overcoming technical challenges and integrating the robot’s peripherals into real-world scenarios. The local team provided ongoing support, helping participants develop the technical skills needed to advance the project effectively.
On the final day, both in Portugal and Poland, time was dedicated to the planning of demonstrators, where each group presented their initial ideas. These proposals were evaluated to ensure technical and educational feasibility, laying the groundwork for the next phases of development. At the end of the training, both locations connected via videoconference to share their progress, resolved challenges, and reflections, strengthening international collaboration among partners.
The training experience was complemented by cultural activities that allowed participants to enjoy cultural exchange and strengthen bonds between partners. In Portugal, visits to Espinho and Porto provided an opportunity to explore local heritage, while in Poland, participants toured Wysokie Mazowieckie and engaged informally with local students, fostering a closer and more enriching learning environment.
Teachers and students emphasized the value of this training, which not only enhanced their technical skills in using the MyCobot280 but also encouraged active and creative collaboration in an international setting. Training C2 was a great success, consolidating knowledge, solving practical challenges, and laying the foundation for the next stages of the ROBVET project.
